KCUR Coverage by Artist-in-Residence Alum Julie Denesha
Photographer and journalist Julie Denesha, who spent her October 2024 residency at the Red Barn, continues to share stories about Lindsborg artists with KCUR 89.3 NPR in Kansas City. During Artist-in-Residence Elena Samarsky’s stay, KMUW NPR Wichita’s Arts Feature Reporter Torin Andersen stopped by for a visit. The result? A lovely “ArtWorks” podcast episode titled “Why Artists Are Drawn to The Red Barn in Lindsborg”, along with a segment on Wichita’s Early Edition from February 20, 2025. Welcoming Student Groups
We’ve enjoyed an influx of student tours this spring, including visits from Emporia State University, Sterling College, and Republic County High School in Belleville, KS. It’s always fun to see students engaging with the space and learning about Lester’s creative legacy.

Raymer Society Member Jenell Hulse asked Director Emily Howe to speak at Salina Rotary about Lester Raymer’s life and work, and the Red Barn’s ongoing Artist-in-Residence program.
