Karla Pricket Salina artist and visual arts consultant Karla Prickett is gearing up for another residency at the Red Barn Studio Museum in Lindsborg, this time from June 12th to 23rd.
During her upcoming residency, Prickett will explore new compositions by diving into her signature mixed-media collage work on canvas or board. Drawing inspiration from her grandfather’s career as an architect and the handwork of artists before computer technology, she aims to infuse her pieces with a blend of contemporary and symbolic expressionism.
Visitors to the Red Barn Studio will have the opportunity to witness the early stages of Prickett’s collage techniques, glimpse into her personal style of expression, and gain insight into her creative process. Prickett’s work, characterized by the dynamic use of line, pays homage to traditional artistry while embracing modern influences.
