Kammy has been exploring the metaphor of a Nest for developing mental resiliency and creative growth. Weavings will be formed into a series of nests. She has also started a series of small fiber drawings of nests. She has one loom up for visitors to participate in weaving in a community project. Whilst having several weavings off the loom and working to fashion 3-dimensional nests, on her drawing table will be small layered fiber drawings of nests that include graphite, inks, and stitching.
During her residency, Eden hopes to utilize this time to experiment with new methods of sublimation printing, soldering, and sewing to use her fabric designs as a storytelling mechanism. Eden’s last day as resident is this Friday, June 7th. She will be combining historical, cultural, and fantastical stories meshed with her home environment to influence her art and what it means to be a caregiver from a plains state. Visitors during her residence can expect a textural experience that artificial intelligence cannot replicate. Each piece of her work is full of meaning, using textiles to tell a well-researched story
