McPherson Arts Alliance Artists, previously known as the VAAM Gallery Artists, will be returning for their 19th annual residency at the Red Barn Studio Museum from Sunday, July 25th to Saturday, July 31st. The artists will work simultaneously in a variety of mediums in the Red Barn Studio. Each one of the artists brings unique interests and styles. Featured artist, Angie
Schafer is a recently retired elementary art teacher for McPherson’s USD 418 and a long-time supporter of the McPherson Arts Alliance artists. She will be working with mixed medium pieces and assemblages. Featured is an image of her art titled, “Black and White and Red: Atomic Age.” Other members who plan to participate at the Red Barn Studio are: Jill Brax, McPherson (mixed mediums), Wayne Conyers, McPherson (watercolorist), Louise Hutchison, McPherson (oils & pastel painting), Betty Jo Houchen, McPherson (clay and pastels), Elizabeth Liljegren, Lindsborg (watercolor/gouache using fish imagery), Lori Martin-Price, Inman (jewelry making) and Meredith Radke Gannon, Wichita (oil paints with abstracted landscapes.)
