Mark Barnette workshop
March 26, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Mark Barnette will lead a workshop, which will last about 90 minutes on Saturday, March 26 at 10AM, titled, “Photographing the (Usually) Invisible: An Abstract Photography Workshop.” Rain date would be Sunday, March 27 at 1PM. We’ll meet at the Old Mill parking lot on Mill Street in Lindsborg. Participants will be challenged to seek out interesting and/or abstract images that defy standard notions of “photogenic.” He says, “No matter what your interest in photography, developing an eye for abstract beauty will make your world a more interesting place.” Participants, 12 years or older, will have to know how to operate a camera. All kinds of cameras, including cell phones are welcome. Cost: $15 members, $25 non-members. Maximum number of participants is 12, minimum 3. “Learning to recognize beauty in unexpected places is an important step in developing a personal style for many photographers. It’s also a way to make life more colorful and interesting for anyone, whether they make art or not. On Saturday, just bring yourself, a camera and a water bottle. Dress appropriately since we’ll be outdoors for most of our time together. I’ll be asking participants to explore the landscape surrounding the museum for much of the workshop, but if we can get inside the museum to photograph that would be a terrific bonus. It would also ensure that the workshop could take place, even if the weather is lousy.”
