Linda Schmidt, Brooklyn, New York, will be the Artist-in-Residence at the Red Barn Studio Museum from Sunday, April 3 through Saturday, April 16.  She will have a reception during Makers Street, Friday, April 8 from 5-8PM.  While at the Red Barn, she says she “would love to work on a few large, layered fabric pieces, some that would hang in the outdoor courtyard and one or two that would take advantage of the high ceiling in the studio.” She says, “I usually have a few things in progress which I will bring along and adapt to fit into the space at the Raymer, perhaps hanging them from the balcony or in front of the window in the studio, or from a rope or cable stretched across the courtyard outside.  My pieces are weatherproof. Linda graduated from the University of Iowa with an MFA in painting, an MA in drawing and a BA as an art major and music minor at Bethel College in N. Newton, KS.
