Laura Baker, of Roeland Park, KS, will be the Artist in Residence, Tuesday, July 6 through Wednesday, July 14, at the Red Barn Studio. Laura has been a regular artist participating in the Raymer Society’s AIR program since the year 2000. The Red Barn has provided a peaceful, productive, and inspiring place for the “Pie Baker Lady” to work on her pie illustrations and do a little test‐baking of new recipes. Laura’s first cookbook, “Pie as Art, Volume 1” was released last summer, and while at the Red Barn, she will continue to work on illustrations to be included in a scrumptious pie cookbook, “Pie as Art, Volume 11.” Laura will also be working on new paintings and experimenting during her residency, working with fiber art, quilting, applique and embroidery. In addition, Laura will be present during the July 9^th Makers Street Art Walk, 5-8 PM and the Pie and Ice Cream Social at 8PM.
