Salina artist and visual arts consultant Karla Prickett will return as the Artist-In-Residence from March 23rd -31st.

During her residency, Pricket will concentrate on new pieces that involve her current creative process. Pricket explains, “My creative process currently involves mixed media collage compositions on canvas or board in which LINE becomes the key component. My concentration is on the movement of visual elements incorporating or bordered with line and using these lines to “draw” within each of my works. This approach honors my admiration for art or design work created by hand in a time before computer technology.” She will also exhibit recent studio works and include a body of work created while participating in Art Yard Brooklyn’s  ZOOM Advanced Studio Program, Brooklyn, NY (Jan 2021 to present).

Pricket’s collages capture movement and take on a life of their own, with line as the key component in creating her mesmerizing pieces. Join us for a reception on Saturday, March 25th, from 2-4pm. Pricket will give a brief artist talk about her studio work and creative experience with the Art Yard Brooklyn’s ZOOM Advanced Studio Program.
