Of her residency Jennifer says, “I work in several different mediums, fiber, glass, metals and ceramics; however, for this residency I will be focusing on silk painting. I will explore new color ways and motifs inspired by the local surroundings, while also researching resists and dye application techniques. I plan to use the rich folk-art history of Lindsborg as well as its lovely flower gardens as inspiration for new designs and color schemes. I look forward to soaking in as much community and culture as possible during my stay…” Jennifer Mettlen Nolan earned her Bachelors and Masters of Fine Arts degree from Fort Hays State University under Linda Ganstrom. Jennifer has taught art at Dodge City Community College for 15 years.
