Artists in Resident duo Heather Byers and Lindsey Kernodle return to the Red Barn Studio Museum on Monday, March 7th, through Sunday, March 12th, with a reception on March 11th from 5-7 pm.

Muralist Heather Byers will focus on a continuation of her previous theme from last year’s residency of femininity out loud. Byers’ work features subjects that are typically seen as femme in bright colors and bold linework to create a vibrant and meaningful expression of femininity. With her vivid and unique style, Byers is creating art that is sure to leave a lasting impression on viewers.

During her residency, Lindsey Kernodle will create detailed paintings of native Kansas species and their effects on the prairie ecosystems. Through her nature painting, Lindsey will explore stories and bring awareness to the beauty of animals who call Kansas home. She depicts these species with both scientific accuracy and incredible detail. By combining art with science, Lindsey’s residency is sure to produce breathtaking results that prompt understanding and appreciation of our state’s natural history.
