Ann Parr, of Overland Park, KS and a former Lindsborg resident, will be the Artist-in-Residence Tuesday, November 2 through Friday, November 19 at the Red Barn Studio Museum. Ann will facilitate a poetry workshop titled, “Poetry for Fun,” from 2 to 4PM on Saturday, Nov 13: the cost is $20 for members, $35 for non-members, a minimum of 10, maximum of 20 participants. The workshop is for ages 12 to 112, supplies needed: paper and pencil. There will be a reception for Parr on Friday, November 12 from 5-8PM during Makers Street.  She hopes during her residency to do “a 32-page picture book biography of Lester Raymer’s younger years, capturing his desire, motivation and calling to be an artist.” Among her own works, Parr will have “Gordon Parks: No Excuses,” and “Coach Tex Winter: Triangle Basketball,” a biography of Kansas State University’s legendary coach, Tex Winter.  She will also have a poetry collection, “Lurking Within,” for sale.
