Russell Natt (1902-1928) Untitled Native American, graphite on paper, good condition, pencil signed in lower right, image: 8×6. Natt was a student of Birger Sandzen at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, he had held several joint exhibitions with him including an April, 1926, exhibit of the Phoenix, Arizona Fine Arts Association. Their work was also exhibited in Chicago and Los Angeles. Natt was early in Taos, New Mexico, painting at the Pueblo, and closely associated with Oscar Berninghaus, Eanger Couse, etc. Some early Arizona paintings and lithographs exist, among them being four views of "Canyon Lake, " the Grand Canyon, and Apache Indian figures and genre. His primary residence was San Antonio, Texas, where he died at an early age from jaundice.
