Signe Larson, watercolor, untitled Sandzen influence
This original watercolor by Lindsborg, KS artist, Signe Larson, features a Sanzen influenced landscape and is dated 1935. The image measures 8.25" x 10.5" and is signed my the artist in the lower right corner of the piece. This piece is in fair condition with some acid burn and will require reframing. Shipping estimates are available upon request.Born in Buxton, Iowa, Oct. 16, 1908 and died in Cordova, Nebraska, Dec. 4, 1993, Signe Larson was a painter and chalk-talk lecturer. She studied with Birger Sandzen at Bethany College where she earned a BFA in 1933, and studied at the Colorado Springs Fine Art Center, University of Colorado, and the University of Washington.
Larson received special training from John Folinsbee, Harry Leith-Ross and Carlos Lopez. She was deaf since birth.
Her sister Elvira assisted Signe with her chalk lectures, which she presented throughout the U.S., Canada and Europe.
Condition: fair – some acid burn, need reframed
