Marko Fields, 2001 stoneware teapot, signed on bottom, good conditon, no chips or cracks, size: 9.75 x 11 x 5 inches, Marko Fields’ ceramic and mixed media work reflects a mid-life career change; in his previous life he worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and editorial cartoonist. Returning to college as a sculpture major in 1992, he soon discovered clay as his preferred material.He received a BFA with distinction, from the University of Kansas in 1996; he earned an MFA from Kansas State University in 1999. He currently teaches at Seward County Community College in Liberal, Kansas.His work can be seen in a number of books and periodicals, and he frequently exhibits, nationally and internationally.In addition to visual arts, Marko is a blues musician-singer-song writer, journalistic and prose writer, and an incorrigible sports fan. Married to Amy Fields, Marko is the father of two; Michael (8) and Abby (5).Additionally, Marko Fields is professionally active in the art world through: active membership in numerous art organizations; curating exhibitions; serving as juror for art competitions, shows and fairs; presenting workshops and demonstrations; lecturing; writing; and, an ongoing involvement in and commitment to collaborative and public art.
